Hollyhock Suite 511: 1 bed/1 bath

Ok, Had to judge when there is still a lot of renovation to be complete. Positive: The beds were very comfortable, and the location was great, with plenty of fantastic food options nearby. The soap and shampoo provided were lovely, and it was a nice touch to have spare toothbrushes included. I also really appreciated that the room had both tea and coffee available, many hotels only provide coffee, so as a tea drinker, it was great to have tea on hand. Having a microwave and fridge in the room was also very convenient. The décor was modern and attractive, and the customer service was excellent. Amanda, who I communicated with through Booking.com, was fantastic and always responded very quickly. We also happened to meet a tall male staff member on our floor when we arrived, and he was incredibly helpful in showing us where to find our room keys and making sure we received our complimentary breakfast items. Negative: As the property is still undergoing renovations, some aspects of our stay were affected. There was no one to direct or great u at the front door. The elevator was out of service when we arrived, and with no staff available to assist, we had to carry our luggage up five flights of stairs. We were advised to message a phone number if we needed help, but as we didn't have a US phone number, this wasn't possible, which made things a little difficult. Hopefully, once the renovations are complete, there will be staff available at the front desk to assist guests. The room also lacked a few basic amenities, including cutlery for the complimentary breakfast and conditioner in the bathroom. We found the bathroom layout impractical, with the door opening onto the toilet, and the sink cabinetry felt quite flimsy. Some cupboards and drawers also didn't open and close properly. It's a little hard to fully judge the property while renovations are still underway. The interior design looks promising, but there are still many unfinished areas. Hopefully, once completed, the hotel will feel more polished and luxurious rather than giving a budget or unfinished impression.
