The Blue Velvet Haven

we had a great stay! the room was easy to get in to and it was in a great location. thank you!

Beware! Stay at own risk!! Not a clean or safe place Positive: Location wasn’t bad. That’s it!! Negative: Let me start out by saying that the online photos depict a beautiful, upscale place. Beware!! This is definitely not the case. There is no staff on the premises at all. The front lobby is under construction and dirty. Look up and you have exposed wiring. We were given a 1 bedroom even though we booked the 2 bedroom. I did not get a price adjustment for this either. We arrived at the hotel at 11 pm. A fire broke out at 1a.m. We were abruptly awakened by a guest in another room who hurried us out of the building down the stairs. Mind you myself, my elderly mother and sister were in our pajamas and bare foot on uncarpeted stairs. We ended up outside with groves of ppl while several filmed us in all our glory. The fire dept put out the fire but we were told nothing. My asthmatic mother could not return inside due to the lingering smoke. We opted to leave. I texted the only number I had informing the hotel that we were indeed leaving, thinking surely, after all of this inconvenience, that we would be refunded for this fiasco. Wrong!!!We drove exhausted 2 1/2 hours home. This was after my 50 year old sister climbed 7 flights to retrieve our belongs as the elevator was not working at the time. I corresponded with whomever was on the other end of the text that we would like to be refunded. I was told that it was another guest that caused the fire and that we could have returned to our room. Again the hotel smelled heavily of smoke. No thank you. Aside from all of this, ppl roamed the halls like herds of elephant and there was a barking dog. This was one of the worst experiences of our lives. Stay at own risk.
